Hi I’m Davina and I am the owner of Stylist to the Dogs

Davina Dewar was a contestant on Channel 7’s Pooch Perfect Series 1 in 2020.

I have my Cert III in Pet Grooming and Cert IV in Pet Styling. I have been a groomer since 2008 and have always had my own grooming business. I have won multiple grooming competition placings and my passion is creative grooming.

My favourite breed to groom is a Bichon Frise. I love grooming Bichons because they are a full scissor cut and I love how the grooming style accentuates this breed’s profile. Really, I just love how they look like cute fluffy clouds after their groom!

I became a dog groomer because I loved the creative side of it. I was always going to work with animals (specifically dogs) and I just fell in love with grooming once I tried it. There is always so much to learn and I love the challenge that grooming can be. I also love being able to be with dogs all day!

My favourite part about being a dog groomer is the joy you get daily from being around dogs. I love making them look and feel better, and I especially love being creative with their grooms!

I look forward to meeting you and your furry kids soon!''

Hi, I’m Molly

I am a senior stylist at Stylist to the Dogs.

I have been in the grooming industry for 7 years. I learned to groom on the job at my first salon, The Doghouse at Redcliffe.

My sister first introduced me to dog grooming, as she is also a dog groomer. I love dogs and love working as a dog groomer.

I chose to come to Stylist to the Dogs to further challenge myself and my grooming skills and love getting the opportunity to groom so many different breeds and grooming styles.

My favourite breed to groom are Pomeranians, because they are just so fluffy and cute!

My favourite part about being a dog groomer is getting to know so many different dogs, and building a relationship with them each time they come in for a groom.

Hi, I’m Lisa

I am a volunteer senior stylist at Stylist to the Dogs.

I have been a groomer for about 25 years, with a couple of breaks to have my 2 girls. I am an IPG Certified professional groomer and have my certificate in kennel and cattery practices.

I did my initial grooming training in Cleveland Brisbane at All Breeds Professional grooming school with Janet McGregor and I have worked in many different grooming salons over my career including vet practices, petbarn, and my own home salon for a small time.

I love grooming poodles of all sizes because they have the best coats to shape and so many different styles to choose from. But my favourite breed is a shih tzu because they are funny and have a great attitude to life!

I love being a groomer because everyday is different and I get to see my furry friends grow from puppies to confident dogs. I especially love working with dogs that have had bad grooming experiences in the past to help them learn grooming is okay and not scary.

Most of all I love passing on my knowledge to the new generation of groomers and that's why I volunteer my time to Davina and the team at Stylist to the Dogs.

Hi, I’m Jess

I have been a grooming trainee with Stylist to the Dogs for one year and I am currently working towards my certificate lll in animal care services & certificate III in pet grooming.

My favourite breed to groom are the breeds with curly coats because the final result is much cleaner looking due to it being easier to shape. I also really enjoy grooming the poodle and poodle mix’s such as Cavoodles because of their sweet nature.

I started off as a bather and really enjoyed my time working with the dogs. So I decided to become a groomer. I love building relationships with the dogs and learning new grooming techniques and information about the dogs everyday.

Hi, I’m Jag

I have been grooming for a year and a half and just began a grooming traineeship with Stylist to the Dogs. Prior to being a groomer, I was volunteering for 6 months bathing, drying and observing grooming skills.

I always enjoy grooming Maltese. I find that there are so many different styles Maltese owners want for their dogs that each groom feels fun and different.

My original plan was to become a vet nurse, while waiting for the course to start I wanted to get experience in the animal industry and ended up falling in love with grooming along the way and chose to stick with it.

I love seeing the same dogs every few weeks and building relationships with each of them. Seeing dogs happy to be groomed and excited to see us always puts a smile on my face.

Hi, I’m Danita

I am a grooming trainee at Stylist to the Dogs.

I have been in the grooming industry for 3 months, I decided to change careers from hospitality and am working towards my Cert III Pet Grooming.

I love grooming standard poodles. They have a lovely, gentle nature and lots of style options to get creative with. I've also always found Schnauzers & Airedale cuts aesthetically pleasing so I'm really keen to groom my first Airedale Terrier!

I decided to become a groomer because I'd been looking for opportunities to work with animals but hadn't settled on a particular branch within the industry. Thankfully I got the opportunity to try grooming & love working with the dogs. Growing up an artistic kid I also love the creative element to the job so it's a win-win.

I love getting to work each day with funny, good-natured people & watching our regular puppies & nervous dogs grow into more calm, confident dogs. Seeing my favourite regulars always makes my day!
